Microblading

What is Microblading?

The art of semi-permanent makeup through a process of using a fine blade and pigment deposited in the top layers of skin to mimic hair strokes. This is a very natural look.

Recommended for someone looking for a natural looking brow to fill in volume from years of over-plucking, the aging process or lightly /sparse brows.

Combination Brows

Another look achieved using the microblading technique to deposit fine strokes along with a powder technique to give the brow a fuller, colored in look. This technique is used for someone who wants a fuller, more dramatic brow yet has little to no natural brow or shape left. -Or someone who typically wears a full face makeup and prefers to fill in their brows. I like to refer to this technique as the “wake up with makeup” look.

Recommended for someone who prefers a full, filled in brow or wears a full face makeup daily.

Microblading Procedure

How Is Microblading Different From Tattooing?

Unlike a tattoo, pigment for microblading is deposited into the top layers of the skin (epidermis). Therefore, the color is not permanent and will fade within 18 months.

Who Is A Candidate For Microblading?

Most people seeking a fuller brow are candidates for microblading. Whether it’s from overplucking, the aging process, status post chemotherapy, fading permanent makeup from years ago, or who have alopecia are excellent candidates.

Who Is Not A Candidate For Microblading?

Unfortunately, not all individuals are candidates for microblading. Provided below is a list of situations that could limit your ability to receive this treatment.

Patients who are immunocompromised, have an autoimmune disorder, or are diabetic should check with their physician prior to the procedure.
A patient should wait at least 6 months after completing chemotherapy before considering microblading.
Pregnant patients are not a candidate due to the anesthetic that is used.
A patient with extremely bold permanent makeup that is unable to be corrected using the microblading technique.
Any patient with an open wound or skin infection would be deferred until cleared by a physician.

Do I Need A Consultation For Microblading?

If there is any question of whether or not you are a candidate for microblading, then I encourage you to make a consult appointment. Consultations are complimentary and although they are not mandatory they are always welcomed. Whether you have had a consult or not, we will spend the first portion of your initial application discussing your expectations and brow dreams.

Are There Any Microblading Pre-Procedure Instructions?

The day of your procedure it is recommended that you avoid NSAIDS and caffeine prior to your brow application.

What Should I Expect The Day Of And The Day After?

You should expect to spend around 3 hours with me at the time of your initial application. Your brows may be slightly tender after your application but no pain should be involved post procedure. Remember microblading is a multi-step process and your brows will go through a healing cycle of looking too dark to not dark enough.
